Pictograms and icons are a keystone of nonverbal and multicultural communication. But what precisely are pictograms, and when is it appropriate to use them? What are their advantages? What rules must be followed, and what are the pitfalls that designers of pictograms and icons must take care to avoid?
Drawing on a multitude of examples from around the world, the authors outline the history of the pictogram and show how it has been used in commercial and creative fields over the past century, as well as offering invaluable hints and advice to designers.
The book features: over 2,000 illustrations organized by theme, including pictograms from all the Olympic Games from 1964 to 2004; tips from successful pictogram designers, with real- life examples to instruct and inspire; a detailed discussion of icons, the "silent servants" of online communities; a chapter by designer Jochen Gros on his quest to create a visual language that crosses all grammatical, semantic, and semiotic boundaries—in effect, to create a "language without words," and more. Over 2,000 illustrations.

Quotes from Chihoon Jeong Website : http://chihoon.format.com/about-chihoon
Chihoon Jeong creates in response to feelings of inspiration he finds in his relationships with the Divine, with Nature, and with other Human Beings. He found that his life-long attraction to the Arts was an undiscovered vocation – a passion that brought all of the aspects of his love of beauty and life into focus. Artistic expression in a variety of media (including painting, photography, music, and dance) is an act of liberation and fulfillment. It is also a bridge that brings him closer to all those around him. He finds his greatest growth and learning in his travels and the new experiences these bring his way. Chihoon’s creating is always an embodiment of his striving towards deeper and more meaningful interrelationship between other beings, the Divine, and himself. Each artistic effort is a statement about the beauty he discovers as he lives in, and explores, this world.
Chihoon has had his solo and group art exhibitions in Boston, New York, New Jersey, Paris, Seoul, and Busan. Since he left Korea in 2009, he had lived in Boston, Buenos Aires, and Brooklyn (NYC). Currently, Chihoon lives in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan for his new art projects. He takes photographs, paints, and dances tango. He looks for and cultivates beauty wherever he can. He loves with a grateful heart.

Bella is a female name. It is a diminutive form of names ending in -bella, such as Isabella and Annabella. Bella is related to the Italian and Latin words for beauty.
I designed the wine bottle based on the meaning of "Bella", I wanted to express the feelings of feminine, beautiful through the design of the wine bottle.
